This is very much a one off, I have not been able to find a serving dish with such an intricately ornate handle elsewhere. This is a quality item manufactured at the Bavarian factory of Porzellanfabrik Tirschenrouth in the early part of the 20th Century. I understand that the backstamp it bears was in use for the period 1903 - 1931.
The dish is free of chips or cracks and the decoration is first class, there is perhaps a 5 % loss in total of gilding at the rim from natural use.
There is a small in glaze mark in the centre of the dish but as there is no associated damage in this area it appears to have arisen from a tiny spot of missing or thin glaze.
Dimensions are 10 1/2 inches 27 cm long by 9 1/2 24 cm wide and the height to the top of the handle is 3 1/2 inches
9 cm. The foot rim is 7 1/2 inches 19 cm long and 6 1/4 16 cm wide.
